I don't think that Bonneville Int'l ever sold Bonneville Satellite. Does anyone have any idea why this is in the article?

Citations Required[edit]

This article has a lot of supposed "facts" and only one source. I have added citation requests. Don't take them down.

Reverted. Bonneville's history is obvious to everybody, including all their station deals which can be tracked down with the simplest of searches. You obviously have some kind of issue with KIRO that is spreading into other articles related to the station. It needs to stop, and you need to cool down. I highly doubt that "Bonneville's history is obvious to everybody"; articles on Wikipedia need citations and references, that's just how it works! Telling someone to go do an internet search, to find out if the info is true, doesn't work either (Wikipedia:Verifiability). I added the additional references needed template, if you don't want it there go an add some references. I was responding to a case where the editor in question put up a questionable AfD (and was later blocked for tenuous editing due to it and other factors) and was using an extreme amount of cite tags on this related article to make a WP:POINT. I understand sources for sure, but in this case the warning was appropriate because of how they abused the cite tags. Nate • (chatter) 05:44, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bonneville Satellite IS owned by BonnInt[edit]

Okay, I'm removing the bit about Bonneville Satellite -- they don't appear to be a separate entity from Bonneville. They work in the same building as Bonneville, sharing the engineering shop there with KSL, and are currently overseen by Greg James, a vice president at KSL.

History of Seattle?[edit]

No mention of the Seattle history in the article.

No more St. George or Idaho[edit]

Bonneville sold the St. George/Cedar City cluster to Cherry Creek Radio and the Idaho cluster to Frank Vandersloot, CEO of Melaleuca, Inc. and they are now "Riverbend Communications"

Bonneville ownership[edit]

When I was little, I was told that EVERY radio and TV station in Utah was owned by Bonneville, and it was "codified" into state law later on...can someone please prove me wrong on this?...thanks...Michaela92399 (talk) 02:20, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That is pretty much unlikely due to laws against concentration of media ownership. There is a massive network of translator stations for KSL-TV across Utah and KSL is Utah's dominant radio station, but because the Salt Lake City market is the entirety of the state of Utah, by default all media is concentrated around SLC and the cities along the Great Salt Lake and that's probably why Bonneville seems to dominate Utah. A state law which would give control of media to Bonneville would quickly be struck down by many courts by default and public protest. Nate • (chatter) 03:30, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Salt Lake properties are no longer technically part of Bonneville.[edit]

They are all part of Deseret News, which is another DMC subsidiary. Different management, different focus. After the sale of other assets to Hubbard (and the migration of much of Bonneville's management at that time) Bonneville is now made up of Phoenix, Seattle, and one station in Los Angeles. KBIG 104.3 FM[edit]

Used to be owned by Bonneville International. Now, the Wikipedia article KBIG lists a Texas company as owner: "iHeartMedia, Inc. (formerly CC Media Holdings, Inc.) is an American mass media company headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. It is the holding company of iHeartCommunications, Inc. (formerly Clear Channel Communications, Inc.)". [So, which is wrong and which is right?] -- AstroU (talk) 20:05, 8 July 2015 (UTC) -- Moved from Catalina Island to Burbank, CA.[reply]
