Yep, only for books. Well meaning Aunts or other non-thinking relatives tend to buy them. Excellent article.

Presumably, as said tokens are a form of cash backed not by the state or government or crown, but rather, a private company, these tokens fall under (and can be linked to) Exonumia - which implies that if the company goes down, the book token holder loses the redeemable value (which I think was what happened recently with MVC?)
