Bootvis was a Microsoft tool that was available on their web site for a couple of years. See this . Warrens 23:11, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do your homework first[edit]

195.64.26.5 and user:Warrens: Why do you delete my contributed section, when you have not done your homework? Read the external references, by gosh, and try the program yourselves, and only then act according to your findings. I have restored what I wrote, softening the style. But the facts remains there, as I did my own homework: I read all the available materials and I tried the program in SIX (6) different machines, always getting great improvements. If you've researched it yourself (for example by running the program) then as far as I can tell it does count as original research. Fair use rationale for Image:Bootvis-screenshot.jpg[edit]

Image:Bootvis-screenshot.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Discontinued? Was Microsoft software?[edit]

MS's article about the software strongly suggests that it is current Microsoft software, and only the mechanism for acquiring a copy has changed. I quote, with my own emphasis:

If you are a software developer or system designer seeking assistance for using Bootvis.exe in your development efforts, please work with your usual Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) contacts for developer support. [...]

The Bootvis.exe tool is no longer available from this site.

The way I read this, bootvis is still available, but only via PSS, who will only give it to developers or system builders. 91.110.245.18 (talk) 21:43, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
