Renaming Border Intercollegiate Athletic Ass'n ---> Border Conference[edit]

In 2012, this article was moved without talk page discussion from "Border Conference" to "Border Intercollegiate Athletic Association". I now propose moving it back to "Border Conference" and also renaming the yearly football season categories and standings templates. We should be naming conferences such as this one per WP:COMMONNAME. Here, the conference was commonly known as the "Border Conference" -- not the "Border Intercollegiate Athletic Association". The raw data on common usage data is supplied below (based on "hits" in the Newspapers.com database) and supports "Border Conference" as the clear and overwhelming common usage.

Year Border
Conference
Border
Intercollegiate
1931-33 940 171
1934-36 3,133 165
1937-39 7,316 137
1940-42 10,509 76
1943-45 2,492 32
1946-48 10,028 55
1949-51 13,994 13
1952-54 16,735 83
1955-57 13,449 32
1958-60 13,461 17
1961-63 7,224 10

Based on this clear common usage, all of these articles, categories and templates should be renamed consistent with "Border Conference". Cbl62 (talk) 01:36, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Support move. Looks like the associated category, subcategories, and standing templates don't need to renamed as they are already carrying the "Border Conference" scheme. Jweiss11 (talk) 01:58, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Good. That will require less time implementing the change. Cbl62 (talk) 02:59, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
