Richhoncho, can you back your edit summary up with a guideline? Erpert blah, blah, blah... 17:13, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Which part do you want me to back up? There have been two separate cats for Foster & McElroy for the past 8 years without any complaint. There have been similar situations for most production teams and groups (from REM to any other group that shares credits), because the songwriting credit is not necessarily a component part of production/recording and people do write separately. For a true example of the problems created by these joint songwriter cats see Category:Songs written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant where not all songs are written by the pair (something I might get round to correcting in due course).
Categories are for joining together articles with significant similarities, and, contrary to common belief, no article is required, I know because I have tried nominating such cats in the past, and many are now being created by me now and others all the time in the songwriter cat.
Why is it so important to you this time?--Richhoncho (talk) 17:56, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Erpert. Here's an example of nominations made regarding no article for a songwriter for you. There are other examples in other categories by other nominators. --Richhoncho (talk) 19:43, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
To be fair, that discussion is from eight years ago. (And what do you mean by this time?) Erpert blah, blah, blah... 00:12, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Erpert This is much more recent, a category moved this month under C2D where there is no article. --Richhoncho (talk) 18:00, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Erpert I note it is over 3 weeks since you responded. --Richhoncho (talk) 18:17, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The Robyn Smith example is different because that's also a case of disambiguation. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 19:09, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
