Pronunciation[edit]

Bosham is actually pronounced "Bozzum" This is a fact and not debatable - ask any local!

In 35 years I've never heard Bosham pronounced Boz-ham. I agree with the previous writer so I'm changing it to Bozzum Apuldram 16:00, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My family from Gosport always says Cosh'm and Boz'm Fuficius Fango (talk) 16:32, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tides[edit]

I'm amazed that this article makes no mention of Bosham's almost-USP, the tide coming up and (a) frequently catching or nearly catching foolishly-parked cars and (b) sometimes getting pretty much into the village, hence all the raised doorsteps and garden entrances. I could add this in myself but I'd have thought someone with more local knowledge might like to do so. (Or are they keeping it a secret so as not to lessen the flow of amusing car incidents for the pub's photo gallery??? :) ) 138.37.199.206 08:45, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have just added a photo gallery including a photo showing a sign warning of tidal flooding.--Charles 08:50, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal[edit]

Guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements state that ideally the civil parish should be the catch-all article, avoiding single line articles on every village and landmark within the parish.

Therefore, I suggest that villages within the parish with a one or two sentence article, ie Bosham Hoe to be merged and redirected to this parish article. ++ MortimerCat (talk) 14:34, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
