Maps[edit]

There are maps of all the islands on a Massachusetts state website. Might be worth importing (to respective pages), as they fall under the public domain. Fuzzform 05:50, 3 August 2006 (UTC) Just realized they may not be public domain, as they are products of the state government. Fuzzform 05:52, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Italics in list of islands[edit]

Wikiklrsc removed the italics from the list of islands with the comment remove un-needed italics. But they did not remove the explanatory text below the list that said Islands listed in italics are not part of the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreational Area.

I'm not sure whether Wikiklrsc didn't spot the explanation and hence thought the italics were unnecessary, or whether they thought that it was unnecessary to distinguish between islands in or out of the NRA and simply overlooked the deletion of the text. Either way the change left the article internally inconsistent, so I have reverted it. -- Chris j wood 18:38, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chris. My mistake. I was thrown by not seeing the clarification statement below first, since it's a computer screen. I changed it a bit after your note, to be on top. Have a look. Bests. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc 18:49, 28 September 2006 (UTC) (User talk:Wikiklrsc)[reply]

Rename[edit]

I renamed this article 'Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area', as is the pattern under National_Recreation_Area --iu65a 16:12, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. That kind of changes the emphasis of the article, which was previously about all the Boston Harbor Islands, including a couple that are not part of the NRA. I've adjusted the article in line with this, and removed those two islands (Castle Island and Spinnaker Island). In order not to orphan them, and to provide a home for discussion of the Harbor Island in a non-NRA context, I've added a new section to the Boston Harbor article, with a list of all islands. -- Chris j wood 13:28, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where should one write about camping?[edit]

I wanted to write something about the primitave camping facilites on four of the islands, but I hesitate wbout whether I should add it to this article or to the Harbor Islands State Park stub, or both.

Basically, I'm confused.

I take my family out for at least one weekend a year. Taking the subway to go camping is a great experience and it deserves a chapter. But on which page?

Municipal jurisdiction[edit]

Which municipalities (and thus counties) do each of the islands belong to (as part of their political territory, not necessarily ownership or management)? -- Beland (talk) 17:50, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the towns to which each island belongs to in the list of islands. --Polaron | Talk 18:18, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, thanks! -- Beland (talk) 06:41, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
