This article seems a bit short on content (I seem to recall it having received a lot of coverage?). If you tried, I'll take your word that it's what you could find

A lot of reference inconsistencies. Complex/'XXL -> Xxlmag.com/Nme.com/ etc. Many issues.

Lead

  • Still inconsistencies. Compare 10, 11 & 25 (same source, different every time), 12 & 16, 36 & 37 are lacking parameters. Also, either link work & publisher in every source or just in first appearance
  • I'd link hip-hop in the lead as well. Definitely link soul (vocals too)
  • I think it should be introduced as the album's second single before listing it as tenth and final song. The latter seems a bit superfluous.
  • I believe that its status as a single should not be introduced in the first sentence, I have seen this not done in many GAs and it is not really needed. I did remove the part about it being the tenth song, but its role as the final track is more important, something reviewers mentioned comparing its song to the album as a whole.   • I'm a little confused. West had Wilson come and record the vocals, or he just sampled Wilson's vocals from a previously released recording?
  • How is it confusing? The text states that it features vocals (they were new, no sample credit) by Wilson, and then it also song samples other people. The samples he used were also soul in nature, he just also featured Wilson on the song. STATic message me! 00:01, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • which recalls the sound of West's early work -> if only to TCD, that should be indicated. Recalls the sound is kind of awkward as well. Maybe "Bound 2 features prominent soul-music samples, which critics noted as reminiscent of West's production style on his debut album, TCD (2004). Or something of that sort (maybe 'hearkens back to West's production on his [..])
  • "Bound", a 1971 song by American soul group Ponderosa Twins Plus One from their album 2 + 2 + 1 = Ponderosa Twins Plus One, serves as the primary sample used in West's track -> This [..], [..], [...] style of writing is awkward. Perhaps "Bound 2 is predominantly built around a sample taken from soul-group Ponderosa's 1971 album, [..]
  • Samples from "Aeroplane (Reprise)", written by Norman Whiteside and performed by Wee, are also used. -> awkward. Also, I don't think it should be samples
  • samples, samples, samples -> these lines read awkwardly and comes off as repetitious. Consider switching it up a bit as recommended.

  • It defers from the original by featuring more piano chords, some modified lyrics and a new outro -> chords, lyrics & outro could use linking

  • "an overt homage to West's bright early production, reimagining The College Dropout's cheerful chipmunk soul through the blurting, minimalist lens of his new muses." -> a bit long. consider paraphrasing or reducing
  • XXL positioned it at number 17 on their list of the best songs of 2013. They said, "On an album that made a lot of people initially say, "What the hell is Kanye doing?", "Bound 2" showed the doubters that he could still give them the soul-soaked laments that everyone wanted, he just decided not to. But that doesn't mean this song is a throwaway—the video might be more of one than the song itself—this is Kanye's introspection colliding with his self-doubt in a way that is eminently relatable to anyone with a pulse." -> very lengthy. Consider a box quote or something of that nature
  • NME ranked "Bound 2" at number 22 on their list of the 50 best songs of 2013.
