Critique for Biology 151 (Professor Hirshorn) at Montgomery College[edit]

Question: Is any information out of date? Is anything missing that could be added?

The brevity of the article is obviously an issue, as it only seems to contain a lead section. However, this aspect of the article intrigues me, as it leaves room for significant contribution. The text is out of date in the way that the species is listed as an inhabitant of Maryland on marylandbiodiversity.com, though the article does not list the Old Line State among those states which host the Asian Needle Ant. Thus, including an updated map of the Asian Needle Ant's locations of occupation within the United States and abroad would prove useful to readers. In general, there is a lack of specific information regarding the means of introduction of the species to the United States, the "ecological impacts of biodiversity" caused by the ant population in the United States, or the combat between Asian Needle Ants and Argentine Ants over land, all of which are referenced in the article. There is also no mention of the dimensions of the organism's anatomy. All of the aforementioned topics could serve to lengthen and strengthen the article if they are included as main points within the body of the text.

Other Questions (Bullet Points 1,4,&6 listed on our WikiEd page for Biology 151):

All facts which are presented in the article are accompanied by cited sources. Furthermore, the article does not seem to include any copyright or plagiarism infractions to my knowledge. The links to the sources referenced in the text are functional and helpful to readers searching for more information on the Asian Needle Ant. In addition, the information provided by such sources appears to be scholarly and compelling. Summarily, there seems to be a great deal of information provided in the sources which is yet to be extracted, rephrased, and included in the article so as to provide a more accurate and complete representation of the species of interest.
