untitled[edit]

  • Jonathan Gould: his name is Johnny, he has never been called Jonathan on the show, nor on the Web site. And as I am currently writing his article, please do not wikify his name, as there is no article for Jonathan Gould, but there is for Johnny Gould. Gary Kirk 17:36, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Nonsense. His name has variously been given as Jonny (not Johnny) or Jonathan in programme credits, and he certainly has been called by both names within the show. And according to IMDb, Johnny Gould and Jonny Gould are two different people. Indeed, I've discovered six people we need to sort out the difference between:
OK, so two of them might be not exactly notable. But the BrainTeaser presenter is known variously as Jonathan or Jonny. I can't remember whether it was only on Memory Bank that he was credited as Jonny and it's been Jonathan since he's been doing BrainTeaser, or if the credit changed at some other point. But I've been watching BrainTeaser regularly for long enough to have heard both names. And if you know of anywhere where he's called Johnny, please share it with the rest of us. -- Smjg 11:42, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Memory Bank! That was good. They shouldn't have dropped that :-( --Gary Kirk (talk) 13:11, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changes this year[edit]

The programme's now 12:30 to 13:45. But why have they decided it takes 15 minutes longer now? The content is exactly the same, except that they've gone back to 10-word Crossfire rounds (which is obviously nothing to do with it).

But as yet, only Alex has been presenting it this year so far. Is Jonny going to return? Until we know, it's hard to update this page tidily, since the new timing is as of 2006 but the two presenters are as of 2005. -- Smjg 10:12, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It turned out that that 75-minute slot was just for one week. Now it's just an hour once again. And Jonny has disappeared from that bit of the five website, so I guess we can safely assume there is only one host now. And they've gone back to having just eight in Crossfire.... -- Smjg 14:25, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Today they moved to a new format with all four contestants facing each other at once, being eliminated one-by-one until there is only a single player left for the pyramid. I (we) will have to watch it a few times to see if they keep the same format or in fact they vary the rounds within the game. Mglovesfun 23:00, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suspension[edit]

Is there any information lurking out there on why they decided to stop the whole show, rather than merely the phone-in aspect of it?

Moreover, does anyone have any idea what they're doing about the people who were booked to participate in the show? Are they pre-recording some to show at some later date, or what? -- Smjg 02:05, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- I was one of the last people on the show, winning £3000 on the Friday before it was dropped, and, from application to appearance, it only took about two weeks to get on. I would suspect that they were also running out of contestants! [Rory - June 29, 2007]

Tense[edit]

There have been a few bits of work to change bits of this article into the past tense. While it mostly makes sense so far, we probably shouldn't do too much. We'd just have to change it back again when/if the show returns.

FTM, does anyone have any idea why five's website hasn't been updated to reflect the fact that the show has been stopped? The BrainTeaser section and FAQ both make it sound as though the show is still running at the moment (but the former implies that it's just taking the day off). Even five news seems to be one of the few news sources not to mention it (unless Google's just not found it). -- Smjg 09:41, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Previous winners[edit]

I want to add a "previous winners" section with the amounts that each person won so we can see how much money was won throughout the series.

I've tried doing it once but it got removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mickeydawe (talkcontribs) 11:14, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BrainTeaser had over 1000 episodes. Somebody won something at the end of nearly every one. That's far too many to begin listing them here. And even if it wasn't, Wikipedia isn't the place for it. If you'd like to try doing something like this on your personal website, feel free to do so. -- Smjg 01:17, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Was I the last three thousand pound winner, though? :-) -Rory —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.6.153.103 (talk) 22:45, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
