Notability[edit]

There is no question over the significance of Kachru. His circles appear in the English Language books at the end of secondary school everywhere. Can we reference my McMillan English Langugae VCE units 1 & 2 book? !!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.191.68.248 (talk) 02:02, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's no doubt Kachru is notable enough to be included in WP. His "circle model" of Englishes is an immensely influential concept in the relevant fields (and probably deserves its own page). Any work even remotely dealing with English as a World/Global/International Language, World Englishes, Varieties of English etc. will cite him.Sharingham (talk) 00:09, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Kachru's three circles form the basis for any consideration of World Englishes . I would be happier to see the circles presented and critiqued within a larger article on World Englishes - an article which is but a stub at present. Kachru is significant in that he has achieved eponymic fame. Is that sufficient grounds for including him as a separate entry in Wikipedia? I do not know the rules on this one. --Anotheracademic (talk) 19:29, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Biography[edit]

The biography of Braj Kachru mentions him and his family to be Kashmiri Pandits. The link here privides the pdf articles for general viewing. The article also provides good information about his family and early life and can be used to improve the wiki article here. -Ambar (talk) 10:41, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
