Well technically it's the largest Scrabble tournament in the world in English but not across all languages. The French festivals can attract up to 2500 players although not all for the same tournament. For one tournament you might get 1300 players which is of course less than 1500, but over all for all the tournament you're talking nearly double the amount. This page http://www.thaicrossword.com/news/shownews.php?newsId=497 shows they expected 10000 players in 2006, but the final turnout was approx. 8000 on the actual weekend. HumphreyW (talk) 18:05, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
