Removal of criticism section[edit]

The removal of the criticism section, deleting both positive and negative responses to this software has left the article far less complete than it was before. There is nothing in WP:Crit that limits the amount of criticism, it is just required to be properly sourced, which it is. If you feel that the criticism section is longer than the rest of the body of the article that just indicates that the rest of the article needs expansion. Removing all criticism makes it look like the article has been edited by people with a COI to protect the subject of the article. Please keep in mind that the aim of Wikipedia is to build an encyclopedia, deleting whole sections of an article and making it read more like an advertisement for the software makes the article weaker, not better and more likely to be AfDed as spam. I have restored the deleted sections. I believe that the best way to make this article better is to add more to the body and perhaps trim down the criticism section quotes, as needed. I have also removed the tags as the article has been copyedited for grammar and comprehension and with the criticism section re-instated, does meet WP's quality standards. Clarification on Default status[edit]

Brasero is the default CD/DVD application in Ubuntu and Xubuntu as well as in the GNOME desktop. Mentioning this is a fact, but the form of mentioning it implies that Ubuntu and Xubuntu are something like GNOME (for those that are not familiar with FOSS). Thus I would suggest something like : Brasero is the default CD/DVD Burner application in GNOME desktop, and as a consequence in major Linux Distibutions like Ubuntu and Fedora. That does malke sense to mention that it is the default CD creator in any distro that uses GNOME, which would be expected, but it it would not be expected in a distro that does not use GNOME, like the Xfce-based Xubuntu, so perhaps that is worth mentioning. - Ahunt (talk) 19:30, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
