2013 coment[edit]

Mr Solovyov again:

"Next year, the first nine winners will form the committee. Further on, other winners will be invited to sit on it. Each Milner winner will be expected to deliver a public lecture about his of her achievement in physics. This is important for raising public awareness of the importance of fundamental physics."

Does it mean that if an unknown scientist proposes a theoretical model that disaggrees with the work of winners, he will have no cance at all to win, EVEN IF EXPERIMENTAL FACTS AGGREE WITH HIS THEORY ?

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 4 external links on Fundamental Physics Prize. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).

Name confusion[edit]

First of all, I don't know why this article is redirected to the current name, "Fundamental Physics Prize", from "Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics". On the official site, the name is still "The Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics" or "Fundamental Physics Breakthrough Prize" in the title image.

Secondly, in the second chapter it suddenly starts to talk about "New Horizons in Physics Prize". From here we knew it's another prize awarded by this foundation, but it lacks context to help reader understand (and should it belong to this article? They are different prizes after all).

Section explaining Special Awards needed[edit]

We have not yet added Jocelyn Bell Burnell's Special Award, and I don't even know whether it's 2018 or 2019 (it was announced in the last few days and will be presented with the ordinary 2019 prizes in November 2018, according to their website). The word Special was originally omitted from our amendment to her bio article, and we still have nowhere to wikilink to anything explaining that Special, which according to their website can be awarded for old discoveries, unlike the ordinary awards. I may or may not eventually add some or all this myself, but I don't have the time right now, so other editors should please feel free to do so instead of me.Tlhslobus (talk) 14:54, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Their website describes it as the 2018 Special Breakthrough Prize for... Tlhslobus (talk) 15:01, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My thanks to User:Pine who has now fixed this. Tlhslobus (talk) 02:42, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Winners ?[edit]

Am I missing something ? Where there are several sections under a year - which are the actual winners of the prize ? -- Beardo (talk) 14:49, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
