Mitchell Report[edit]

I took the mention of the Mitchell Report out of the intro. Brian's not one of the major characters in the report (Larry Bigbie is much more so), and he is only mentioned as having taken roids once or twice rather than being a regular user. He hasn't been suspended over drugs either. --Idont Havaname (Talk) 04:30, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How did Roberts start the 2004 season?[edit]

This sentence makes no sense. How can Roberts be the opening day starter if he's only playing because Hairston got injured in the game? Anyone know what really happened?

"The Orioles started spring training in 2004 with both Hairston and Roberts on the roster. Hairston fractured his finger in the first game, however, and Roberts became the opening day starter." Jdickert (talk) 21:01, 10 August 2008 (UTC)jdickert[reply]

I think the sentence is supposed to mean "Hairston fractured his finger in the first game of spring training" but adding that to the sentence as it is now would make it repetitive. Better would be to say "fractured his finger in March" or whenever the game was, which implies Spring Training but we don't actually repeat it in the sentence. ugen64 (talk) 01:38, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Brian Roberts Brian M. RobertsBrian Roberts (baseball) – His full name is Brian Michael Roberts, and so the article should be renamed in order to differentiate him from other notable people with the same name, see Brian Roberts (disambiguation). Searching for "Brian Roberts" currently redirects here (and it shouldn't, one would be more likely to search for another one on the list as I just did), so after the move, the name Brian Roberts will lead to a disambiguation page. Alternatively, the article can be changed to Brian Roberts (baseball). Shalom11111 (talk) 10:03, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

comment: That could work. I shall note that you compared this page with Brian Roberts (basketball), which is not the same one. But the point stands of course, other Brian Roberts(s) have no less relevance and page views than this man, who doesn't own this domain name... Its search should later lead to a page such as Daniel Roberts for example. Shalom11111 (talk) 12:41, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sure I was just showing the (baseball) isn't even most common. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:02, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I see now. Of course. Shalom11111 (talk) 13:33, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Brian Roberts (baseball). No indication that subject's prominence is such that it dwarfs the combined notability of the other 9 men named "Brian Roberts". Additionally, none of the article's "External links" has referenced subject as "Brian M." MLB, ESPN, Baseball-Reference, Fangraphs, The Baseball Cube and Baseball-Reference (Minors) all depict his name as simply "Brian". —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 17:33, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That makes perfect sense. So, upon consensus, the proposal has now been modified to redirect the page to Brian Roberts (baseball) (instead of Brian M. Roberts). Shalom11111 (talk) 13:41, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
