Genesis of this page[edit]

Bridget Kearney and Rachael Price are two of the best known members of Lake Street Dive and both have worked with other bands. Kearney and Price are the only members of the band which have released their own records. Bridget's solo album will be released early in 2017. Lesser muscians than Bridget have pages, I thought it was time to create one for her.Rcollman (talk) 17:24, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Comments[edit]

Comments are always welcome as are edits. I do not know Bridget Kearney personally, nor am I associated with the music industry. I have some experience as a Wikipedia editor (see my userpage). I expect bots and people who see this new page will jump in with suggestions. This is what Wikipedia is all about.Rcollman (talk) 17:24, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Background in Infobox - solo_singer[edit]

In the context of Lake Street Dive, Kearney is a singer-instrumentalist and background singer. In her solo album she is the lead singer.

  • See Template:Infobox_musical_artist/doc/type explains solo_singer. "Singular vocal performers (including lead and background singers, singer-songwriters, and singer-instrumentalists). This categorization is for any article about a singer, whether they perform solo, with a group or band, or both."Rcollman (talk) 14:21, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bridget Kearney Band and Musician Affiliations[edit]

A bit of belated housekeeping, I moved the discussion below to this Talk page from the User:Aithus Talk page Jess (talk) 20:42, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for trying to improve the Bridget Kearney page. I do not know this artist personally. This is one of the very few pages I edit because I find her inspiring. I noticed you removed all of her current band affiliations except Lake Street Dive. This is incorrect. Ms. Kearney performs as a solo and ad hoc act with other guest musicians, leading and following, as well as with Benjamin Lazar Davis, Will Graefe and others on a regular basis under various band names including the ones I reinstated. These musicians, collaborations and bands are important in a number of ways. (please check out Bridget's Solo albums, and her work on BAWA and STILL FLYING. Please be careful when editing. Research is an important foundation on Wikipedia. I like your code. jstengel Jess (talk) 02:34, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Jstengel: I apologize for cutting out some of them from the infobox. I do believe in MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE, particularly that it should "summarize (and not supplant) key facts that appear in the article". That was why I left out bands without their own articles that are sort-of personal to the artist, or whose memberships may be vaguely defined. But there is nothing wrong with your inclusion either. By the way, I think you spelled "Cuddle Magic" wrong in the infobox. I didn't correct it because I'm not sure in which parameter I should put it (is she a current or past member?). No worries. Thanks for the feedback and educational link to MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE. I fixked' the "Magic" spellin' :) Bridget is a past member of Cuddle Magic, she appears in older YouTube and Facebook posts. Jess (talk) 19:35, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
