Vartuhi Vardanian[edit]

Just curious, but is there a non-Azerbaijani source that confirms the information stated in this article on Vardanian? -- Clevelander 11:09, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

website link dead[edit]

The link to her website in the "External links" section and in the image box is dead. --Túrelio (talk) 09:03, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Age[edit]

This person is registered with the Central Election Committee of Azerbaijan, which shows her age based on her Azerbaijani ID, which is 1959.[1] A non-partisan news website confirms this.[2] Parishan (talk) 11:08, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According to her official website http://dadashova.com/, she was born in 1965 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Everest505 (talkcontribs) 15:53, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Her official website cannot top the state website or the third-party news website which cites official information from state agencies with regard to her date of birth. Parishan (talk) 09:15, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just a question, how can she have been born in 1965 when (according to the article) her mother died in a 1964 car accident? ~Adjwilley (talk) 19:31, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RfC on birth date[edit]

The birth date given on official voting rolls such as this one (translation) conflict with the artist's claims on her official page (translation). An editor who claims to be close to the artist has cited a purported image of the artist's passport to support that birth date. How should we proceed given the conflicting dates given by these sources?--The Devil's Advocate tlk. cntrb. 18:57, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm inclined to believe the voting records. I can see how someone in the performing arts might have it in their interest to appear younger. PierceG (talk) 20:28, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We are not here to judge. Give both dates, give their sources, and let people draw their own conclusion. DGG ( talk ) 20:33, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Why can't we judge? If there's a potential conflict of interest shouldn't that be taken into account? The "reliable" in "reliable sources" implies a judgment call. PierceG (talk) 23:54, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with DGG. Celebrities often lie about their birth year in order to appear younger than they are, so two or three birth years are common. WP should just include them all, provided they are from reliable sources. Here, the passport image is useless, since its provenance is uncertain. The artist's own web page could be used, but perhaps worded as ".. she claims to be born in.." or similar per WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV. The voting roll looks pretty darn reliable and probably should have the most weight. --Noleander (talk) 18:48, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Include both sources with the voting records as the primarily weighted date. Dreambeaver(talk) 18:10, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Caution. Both sources appear to fall foul of WP:OR. I would be inclined to trust neither. Andrew327 16:36, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How do you Know the voting record is for her? — raekyt 23:09, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
