Let the Craziness Begin[edit]

I made what best my mind could come up with for a draft organization of the article. My next thing would to create a List of First Nations involved in the British Columbia Treaty Process, going through their current stages (Stage 4, Stage 5, or Stage 6) etc. Then the other is the history section, which is covered a lot in the timeline, but I it needs more encyclopediaic flare. I would imagine with the history of what has happened and what is happening, another article History of the British Columbia Treaty Process could be created, but that would be down the line. Naturally, the criticisms section can be expanded on, and moved from a point form to more comprehensive paragraphs. I'll see if I can some protest or rally photos from any actions related to the BC Treaty (either pro or anti, or both). I'm also thinking a map of all the First Nations involved and not involved would better illustrate the entire thing. Then, after that, I'm at a loss. So all help is called for. For a start, I think it would be a good idea to describe what's involved in each step. That way it will actually mean something when you hear that so and so is in stage 3 or whatever. I think it would be good to expand on the criticisms to make it clear why so many nations have decided not to participate. - TheMightyQuill (talk) 18:54, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if it's created yet, but that court decision with the Tsilqotin should be created. I think it's a dubious court decision that won't have any huge impact (like the Delgamukw decision also didn't have), but it's interesting that that First Nation got 50% of their land back through the courts. What does that say about other nations (What, Tswassen got 3% of their territory and Maa-nulth got 20%?). Anyways, there will probably be more rhetoric about it eventually, but I'm just suggesting it be made. It might have ramifications to the treaty. Whoa... I hadn't even heard about that. Awesome. Anyway, I added some, but more should obviously be added to the Xeni Gwet'in and Xeni Gwet'in First Nation articles. - TheMightyQuill (talk) 04:57, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
