Current Operations[edit]

A pretty useless section, really. There aren't any current operations; the section is just a very basic summary of what the class did in their last few years in service. A proper operational history would be much more useful. I fully intend to make this, but there are certainly other people better qualified than me to do it. If you're one of them, please sort it out. Design[edit]

Folks might notice that these share the cabs nearly the same as the 4VEP's, it was debated and considered to make the 207's to have corridor connections usable at the engineless end but would enable drivers and guards to access all parts of the train without leaving the unit. BR just went ahead with the 4VEP design cab ends but left out the connecting door the 4VEP's had between the forward facing windows. BR at the time realised that if corridor's were to be used, a passageway blocking off from the engine would be required to prevent passengers interfering with the engine's operation. Cab controls like all the SR's corridor connected EMU's could be locked off using the BR1 key and further locked away by the connector doors so people could not climb all over the cab areas. Sadly this left the 207's with a very different cab end arrangement to that of the 205's, the 205's were built on the same suburban standard as the EPB stock whilst the 207 utilised the 4VEP body frame hence why they look a lot different to the 205's. 92.25.22.150 (talk) 02:10, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
