Merge proposal

There are multiple articles that refer to the APT, it seems to me that ideally they should be merged. AndyLandy (talk) 19:41, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Against "Advanced Passenger Train" was the name of the overall project - the Class 370 units were the prototype rolling stock constructed to test the technology on a full up basis Hammersfan 16/12/08, 09.42GMT

Speed record

So did the 225 beat the APT-P or not? The reference claims that the APT-P set the record on a test run, as did the 225 apparently, so why does this article claim the record stands until Eurostar? Maury Markowitz (talk) 21:34, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Motor coach no. 49007

Recent edits have added motor no. 49007 - other than ref. 2, I can't find evidence for this. The lists of BR Lot numbers included in

show the motors as six only, numbered 49001-6 - these books do show a seventh DTS and TBF. Similarly,

shows seven DTS and TBF but only six M, numbered 49001-49006. Although there is clear evidence for the seventh DTS+TBF, and that these were used in service in order to provide a short formation - the press runs of the APT used one six-car half-set plus the two-car half-set 370007, with only one motor formed between them: one of the PDF docs ("The shape of travel to come") shows this formation - it's not likely that an extra M would have been needed for similar use. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:35, 1 February 2016 (UTC)

Dubious source

My virus scanner has picked up on ref [1] ("Advanced Passenger Train – Prototype" at The Crewe Heritage Centre), it's listed under "Harmful websites", apparently "these websites you've visited put your security at risk - creweheritagecentre.org" --Redrose64 (talk) 22:09, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
