Questionable claim[edit]

"Brock later admitted that he replayed classical music compositions in his head while running down field to make bone-rattling tackles, many of which saved touchdowns against the Lions."

I know the Lions weren't that good in the late 90s, but making many touchdown-saving tackles? Um, I have my doubts about that claim.

Saved TD's are tracked by the NFL and is information provided by teams. Also, that information was written by a reporter and included in the story. It is indeed accurate, and not just a "claim." Furthermore, it's the kind of statistic that NFL special teams players receive PRO-BOWL votes - an honor Olivo was nominated for twice. Notes on major overhaul including NPOV opening paragraph[edit]

I just did a small "m" major overhaul of this article. I'm not an Olivo fan and pretty mush despise Mizzou, but I hate crappily written articles even more. This could still stand a lot of work (for those who do care about the subject) but I thought a good overhaul made with honest intentions would be a better place to start from. The structure is a bit sucky, and his NFL career appears to be a blip (he didn't do much, but his special teams stats were reasonable. I'm betting someone could even find some Detroit newspaper articles mentioning some notable game. Finally, since he is running for office, as that unfolds, one way or another, that should be covered.

Please don't just revert the entire thing, rather, if you disagree with a specific point or see that something new needs correcting, just do it. I'm always kind of leery of apologists who descend upon Biographies of Living People looking to scrub anything unflattering about them (e.g., the fact that he's running for office even though he's never voted - HE ADMITS IT HIMSELF PEOPLE). These edits are in good faith and point to sources to verify that, all in all, Olivo's a good kid (though if you watch any of the YouTube videos on him, you may form a, shall we say, more nuanced opinion about his political future). -- Quartermaster (talk) 13:55, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
