Full name and date of birth/death[edit]

@DiamondRemley39: I'm not convinced that his full name is "John Brown Holmes" finding only that one reference in Variety. If the DOB/DOD are correct, it might be "Brown Kenneth Holmes". @Clarityfiend: Where did you find the dates and location for birth and death? StrayBolt (talk) 18:26, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Good find on the house. Adding Kenneth in newspaper searches and then on Ancestry uncovered a bit more. He's Kenneth Dewitt Holmes. Sometimes he's Brown K. Holmes, sometimes he's Kenneth Holmes, and sometimes he's Brown Kenneth Holmes. I've also seen it as "Browne" and his father went by "Brownie." He signs his name Kenneth Dewitt Holmes on his draft registration card and I see that name early enough in his life to suggest that's his real name. He took a name close to his father's as a nom de plume, though people were calling him "Brownie" early enough in his life that he may have been answering to it. I've got another half dozen or so combinations to do in a couple of databases in a few days. I'll still search for him as John--not that I think it was his name, but in case the mistake might have been made again and we might be able to get more coverage. Good point, @StrayBolt. I'm hopeful he is going by his middle name and that is what may have kept me from an obit. I've had so many hits with exact searches that I hadn't broadened to inexact. I'll look into the full name in databases and his genealogy soon. You may remove the name or add a disputed tag in the meantime, if you like. Thanks for checking me.
