Improved Formatting[edit]

The Major Championships Results Timeline tables could be collapsed into one table (all years), rather than two. SquashEngineer (talk) 16:34, 8 April 2021 (UTC) Actually, what would be wrong with putting the TPC and World Championships results in the Same Table as the Major Championships, just separated by a title line in the table? SquashEngineer (talk) 16:39, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Standard procedure per WikiProject:Golf, due to the playing order of the majors changed in 2019. Jimmymci234 (talk) 16:40, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Adding "Controversies" secion[edit]

I would like to propose the addition of a "Controversies" section which will include the following:

- Interactions with rules officials (existing content)

- Incident with Richard McEvoy at 2018 Porsche European Open (Source 1 | Source 2)

- Criticisms of slow play (e.g. 2019 Northern Trust) - (Source 1 | Source 2 | Source 3)

- Bryston's criticisms of equipment (e.g. recent incident with Cobra) (Source 1)

- Berating camera man at 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic (Source 1)

- Numerous controversies surrounding Bryson not yelling "fore" (Source 1 | Source 2)

It may optionally include others (which may not have consensus agreement in this forum) such as:

- Feud with Brooks Koepka, having spectators removed from The Memorial (Source 1 | Source 2 | Source 3)

- Criticisms for bulking up to hit the ball long distances (Source 1)

The creation of the section given this list is akin to similar sections in the articles of Rory Sabbatini and Patrick Reed, among others. Please let me know if this would be acceptable and I will write it out.

We already have a section "Interactions with rules officials" which could be renamed and expanded. However, we need to make sure that such a section doesn't overwhelm the article, so brief summaries would be ok, rather than long extensive details. Nigej (talk) 20:38, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We must comply with WP:BLP and WP:NPOV (WP:UNDUE; see also WP:CRITS). Just because something has been reported in the media, doesn't mean it warrants inclusion here. Most of these "controversies" are run-of-the-mill incidents for a touring pro; putting them all together without such coverage in multiple intellectually independent reliable sources probably violates the aforementioned policies. wjematherplease leave a message... 22:12, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But then could you say if you’re going to follow WP:CRITS then nothing negative should ever be put in an article. Like does Justin Thomas' controversy section go against WP:CRITS? If not then why is it ok? Just genuinely curious. Jimmymci234 (talk) 22:44, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
