Please consider the accuracy of the statement that the Budawangs are part or a 'spur' of the Great Dividing Range. The waters to the west of this range flow into the Shoalhaven, a coastal river. By definition it is not part of the GDR. The actual GDR in this part of the country is around Mulloon much further west than the Budawangs and not far east of Bungendore. (Even Mulloon Creek's waters flow into the Shoalhaven.) The Budawangs form a watershed between the catchments of the Clyde and Shoalhaven Rivers, which both flow east to the Tasman Sea.
