merge with Shedu[edit]

This article clearly has the same subject as the Shedu article, even when Lamassu redirects to Shedu. This article is more informative, so should be the basis for merger IMHO. Mhaesen 17:44, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

if anything, Bull-Man should be merged with Shedu, as Shedu is the correct term. Although the Bull Man article would seem to be a centaur-like creature, with a bull replacing a horse. If this is the case there should be no merger.

That's because the main article is spelled lammasu. Shedu includes, these, which are winged lions, not bull-men. This merging would be incorrect. See below by 70.16.132.141 .  - C. dentata 05:08, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lamassu[edit]

The picture you have up is of a lamassu - lamassus are defined in art history as an Assyrian guardian in the form of a man-headed winged bull - a human head with the body of a lion is refered to as a Sphinx.(70.16.132.141 )

no. A lamassu has a lions body, as does a sphinx, manticore etc. but they are all different (mythological) creatures. A Shedu has a bulls body.
