Nobody has to switch HDTV on, but it is the best feature of digital transmission, which is what's mandatory. BTW, my source for the tentative date is the alt.tv.tech.hdtv usenet forum. MMetro (talk) 01:47, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.ic.gc.ca/epic/site/oca-bc.nsf/en/ca02336e.html appears to be the official line, "The set-top converter boxes should be available starting in 2009 and should be in most retail stores by 2011. East Lansing[edit]

Did you guys know that CBET is included in a cable package as far west in Michigan as East Lansing? I'm pretty sure it's too far west to be picked up by antenna, but that city does have a carrier that carries CBET that far west of the border, and maybe that fact should be included in the article. --Criticalthinker (talk) 07:38, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
