Some ideas[edit]

It would be good to have the following new sections

  • CBS domains and human disease (done)
  • Domains associated with CBS domains - these could be classified into types such as membrane bound, enzymes, transcriptional regulators etc. (done)

It would be nice to include a multiple sequence alignment showing secondary structure and substrate binding sites. It would also be good to discuss the substrate binding site in the context of the structure. FInally it would be great to have a table summarizing the substrates that CBS domains bind as well as their affinities for some examples. Alexbateman (talk) 11:21, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Alex. I've reclassed this as B-quality article for the moment, because it has a significant amount of the content available for the subject. I think an annotated alignment would be great and also some info on substrates. I would be a little wary of having too many tables, though, as reviwers tend to prefer text. I think if you could include the suggestions above then you could certainly put this forward for WP:GA. Rockpocket 17:21, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Rockpocket. I'm delighted to move my first article up the quality scale :) Thanks for the suggestion about tables. I think the links to diseases could be well described in text rather than a table. OK I'll get all these things done and then see if I can get to GA. Thanks again Alexbateman (talk) 07:44, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Here is my suggested list of things to do before going for GA status:

  • Annotated multiple sequence alignment
  • Discussion of the substrate binding site in the context of the structure
  • Table or section of substrates with binding affinities
  • Rewrite disease section to remove table
  • Add figure showing the variety of protein domain architectures in the associated domains section

I am striking out items above as they are completed. GA status here we come. Alexbateman (talk) 15:33, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
