Areas for improvement in this article[edit]
This Wikipedia reader wants to know two things:
- Is CEA-909 a "dead" standard, or are manufacturers actually going to bring some new models to market?
- How is CEA-909-B an improvement over CEA-909-A? 71.221.121.26 (talk) 15:33, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Some answers:
B is an improvement in that A used a separate control cable (ie 2 cables to antenna) whereas with B the signal is muxed onto the antenna line (like with sat antenna controllers).
Is it dead? 909-A: Well from my Canadian point of view, the only 2 "A" products were cancelled before they were ever officially sold on Canada. So "A" was still born.
909-B: More than unique... I don't think a single commercial model was ever produced. Even the company that developed the standard www.antennasdirect.com does not seem to sell one. (You'll never see a product with the "A" printed on it. The "A" was added, when "B" was introduced (ie the "A" came after the standard was obsoleted)).
