Created new page

This page is based on the CVS Corporation page, with a few Caremark-related updates due to the recent merger. Still need to add pictures. I would suggest renaming the existing CVS Corporation page to CVS/pharmacy, removing any content unrelated to the CVS/pharmacy stores. As for the existing Caremark page, I suggest we keep it as-is. I base the Caremark page suggestion on the fact that Revco & Arbor Drugs, both of which were acquired by CVS, still have their own pages.Jeebas62 01:07, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

At this point I think that CVS/pharmacy, CVS/Corporation, and CVS/Caremark should be the same page. The new page should include, chronologically, the evolution of the company from the Melville days, through the acquisitions, to the current entity. Caremark, Advance, PCS, Advance/PCS, and all acquisitions should be like I've seen with all other company pages where they show their individual histories up to, and including being acquired. Having three separate pages makes the reader feel as though they are reading three different book reports on the same book. I'm not very good at the etiquette here, but I'm sure there is a way to make all three titles link to the same page. For those that feel that the stores need their own page, they should have information relegated to a section of the article with any information that would be best served by indicating clearly that it pertains to the stores apart from the company as a whole. Per the comment above mine, I like being able to look up former chains and seeing their individual history before acquisition. I believe that individual histories of all the chains would be burdensome. etctam —Preceding undated comment added 10:17, 7 September 2011 (UTC).

CEO

Shouldn't Tom Ryan be included on the side as Chairman and CEO of CVS Caremark? Why is he not included here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.172.28.45 (talk) 19:57, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Acquisitions & Growth

Section had been tagged as proseline. Does anyone have input as to what should or should not be included in this section?Jeebas62 22:52, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Deceptive Business Practices

The section "Deceptive Business Practices" was copied directly from a Kaiser Daily Health Policy Report, [1] It is 3 fairly long paragraphs of a 6 paragraph story. But Kaiser Foundation published the report, really a summary of current newspaper reports on the story, apparently without copyright. The page footer says "Kaisernetwork.org is a free service of the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation." I kept the 3 paragraphs, but added credit to Kaiser and indented the quoted report. I also added ref links to the cited newspaper stories. Colfer2 (talk) 16:56, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

A vendetta over shoplifting tags

A controversy involving charges of racial profiling is summarized at Snopes. This controversy encompasses additional retail chains as well, but because CVS is named prominently in the (technically true) rumor, it is likely that this wiki entry will be one place people will look for confirmation.
