commercial links[edit]

One of the links on this page is a commercial link to an unnotable vineyard in the AOC. I don't really want to take it down because I think the winemaker's a good guy and he's representative of the region. At the same time, I sort of want to include a link to all the winemakers in the area (myself included) if he gets a link. I don't really know the guidelines for this so I thought I'd just note it in the talk page and see what came up. mroconnell (talk) 15:39, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The general policy is found in WP:EL (with some applicability of WP:WINEGUIDE) and the link, although to a nice website, was clearly not in line with this policy, so I removed it. If a winery is notable enough to merit its own article, that article (only) can link to the winery. Also, I could imagine a rare case when a winery has a website which has very good general information on the history or geography of its appellation or region - in English. In that case, linking to that information would be justified. Tomas e (talk) 17:01, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
