– Per discussion at Talk:Caesarea#Caesarea_Maritima, there is no WP:PTOPIC for this title.

Regarding the appropriate disambiguated name for the article currently at Caesarea (the modern resort town 1-2 km north of the ancient site), suggestions include natural disambiguation (Keysariya or Qesarya, similar to Kayseri) or parenthetical disambiguation. • Oppose as proposed, but would support Caesarea (disambiguation)Caesarea if paired with CaesareaCaesarea, Israel (which currently redirects to Caesarea) or alternatively CaesareaCaesarea, Haifa District or some other appropriate disambiguation. There are 20 entries listed upon the Caesarea (disambiguation) page, with no indication that the town, population 5,343, has had international renown to the extent of overshadowing the combined notability of the remaining 19 entries. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 01:31, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the same thing: a pairing of the move with the move of CaesareaCaesarea, Israel. The natural disambiguation, as it turns out, isn't all that natural, with none of the transliterations of the Hebrew back into Latin script, official of otherwise, seemingly having gained much traction over the original Latin. Google maps also uses 'Caesarea'. There is the added issue of transliterations such as 'Qesarya' potentially causing confusion with the former Palestinian village of Qisarya at the Caesarea Maritima locale. • Support, paired with CaesareaCaesarea, Israel, but am open to better suggestions for the latter. The modern town is not PT, given its small size and the importance of the historical Caesarea. Srnec (talk) 15:36, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For those who might question the claim that the modern place is not the primary topic: look at the incoming links and pageviews. —Srnec (talk) 15:45, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support proposed move, if paired with CaesareaCaesarea, Israel or a similar appropriate disambiguation. The stats provided by Srnec make clear that there's WP:NOPRIMARY topic between the modern and ancient cities. ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 21:39, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Move to Caesarea (modern town). The site of Caesarea Maritima is also in Israel, so this is no disambiguation at all. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:09, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My logic was the "comma INSERT GEOGRAPHY" disambiguation format tends to be used for modern places, and the main Caesarea title will be a disambiguation page, so readers will be directed to whichever one they want. Iskandar323 (talk) 13:23, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I support Necrothesp’s (modern town) proposal, as both sites are in Israel. Onceinawhile (talk) 06:58, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that it is probably better. Srnec (talk) 17:11, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't mind that either if people think the disambiguation is better that way. Iskandar323 (talk) 17:22, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Incoming links[edit]

Caesarea now has over 1,000 incoming links which are intended for one of the linked articles (probably Caesarea, Israel) rather than the disambiguation page. Please can editors who know the topic help to fix them? A good start would be the redirects and templates which link to the dab; fixing these correctly should resolve most of the errors with a few dozen edits.
