list needed?[edit]

it would be nice if there were a list of landmarks in landmark number order. Is there such a list in WP? or anywhere? Thanks Hmains 02:35, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That list is not actually sorted in landmark number order, but it could easily be converted into tabular format that would allow sorting by landmark name, by landmark number, or by location. Sorry, The list would be too long, if listed by landmark number order. The list is now in the 1000s. That is why it is organized by county.Telecine Guy (talk) 18:14, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

merger suggestion[edit]

There is a suggestion to merge List of California Historical Landmarks into this article California Historical Landmark, posted in the List article, with discussion to happen here. I oppose that proposal, because there is room for this article (to be expanded) on what a California Historical Landmark is, with perhaps a few examples and explanation of the criteria for inclusion, and history of the program, but without 1000+ entries for every single one of them, which belongs in a separate list-article. See other such pairs, for example: List of National Historic Landmarks by state and National Historic Landmark; List of Registered Historic Places and National Register of Historic Places. doncram (talk) 22:30, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

There is a box {{ Infobox historic site |designation1=California. This can be used for CHL and local listings also. Or do you mean a special one just for California? That would be asking for too much.Telecine Guy (talk) 18:18, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
