Present tense[edit]

CDCS is an early discontinued distributed operating system

strikes me as rather awkward. I know MOS:COMPNOW wants us to use present tense, but its reasoning is that "to be" is somehow a dynamic verb. I don't see how it is in

CDCS was an early distributed OS
