Movement?[edit]

What's "The Massad Movement"? Vonfraginoff (talk) 22:18, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Google hit of the day: The Massad Camp Dam in the Pocono Creek watershed: http://www.brodheadwatershed.org/3.htm -- Vonfraginoff 09:28, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(The dam picture link is broken. By the way, it's the dam at Massad Bet.) LenMinNJ (talk) 18:42, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"hebrew camps"[edit]

Define the concept of hebrew camps, and introduce the fact that Massad published hardback dictionaries and a literature magazine.

Origins[edit]

the Forward and the Jewish Week disagree on the 1941 origins: the Forward puts the day camp in the Catskills and the Jewish Week has it in Far Rockoway.

I've added a link to a picture of the 1941 staff. My mother, Marcia Moskowitz (nee Slochowsky) is kneeling at the lower left. She worked as a secretary for Shlomo Shulsinger. LenMinNJ (talk) 18:05, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here's a link to a picture of the boys and counselors in Massad Aleph's Geza division, Summer of 1963: http://www.panix.com/~moskowit/Massad-Aleph-Geza-Boys-1963.jpg . The Shulsingers and the Tokayers are in the center. I can name roughly a third of faces. I'm in the second row from the bottom, third from the right. LenMinNJ (talk) 12:44, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
