Vocalic phonemes[edit]

This article states that the Canzese dialect has 13 vocalic phonemes. If this is true, this is a remarkable feature as Lombard varieties usually have 8 or 9 vocalic phonemes. Please support this statement with minimal pairs as example, as this is a very interesting issue.

If on the contrary this statement cannot be proved I propose to flag the article with the original research tag.

/ɪ/: "tignöla"; "gatìn"
/ʊ/: "furmentùn"; "culètt"
/æ/: "al"; "cal"
/ɑ/: "saltà"
/y/: "pügnàta"; "sügütà"

But all they are uninfluent variants of "i" or "e", of "u" or "o", of "a" or "e", of "a" or "o", of "u" or "i", respectively, for meaning.

Well, if you say that they are uninfluent variants, then they are not phonemes but allophones of the corresponding phoneme, therefore they should not be listed in the table of the vowels and should not be noted as "//". -- Ninonino 11:39, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
