Why is this article titled 'Cape Malays'[edit]

... rather than 'Cape Malay'? quota (talk) 16:06, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know. I've moved it to "Cape Malay". - htonl (talk) 17:45, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's 11 years later, but for the record, the Wikipedia convention is to use plural demonyms for ethnic group article names. WP:ETHNICGROUP Park3r (talk) 13:56, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It is the convention now! As far as I can recall, it wasn't that way in 2010. :) - htonl (talk) 19:30, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct. It was decided on in 2015. [1] Park3r (talk) 23:54, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Piesang for banana and Blatjang for chutney are both Malay words borrowed into Afrikaans. Erichv (talk) 00:06, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
