I can't believe uo had to wait for so long. I will review this article! —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 18:06, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's ok, I learned to be patient :-). But the article never had a copy-edit so the prose may be very weak. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 18:22, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's not bad. Just comma and quotation issues that stand out the most. Here are the issues you have to address within the seven days:
Lead
  • Needs to be shortened down to only one pararaph. The article is too short for a lead of that length.
  • "while it was produced by Guy Roche." (incorrect usage of 'while') Try: "and was produced by Guy Roche."
  • "Recording sessions had took place"
  • "The song was given mixed reviews from music critics" – "by", not "from".
  • "The Daily Vault, believed Selena made a mistake with "Captive Heart". Mario Tarradell of The Dallas Morning News stated that "Captive Heart" was bordering on that New Jill Swing sound popularized by Mary J. Blige and Jade." - We do not need individual reviews in the lead. Remove.
  • "The song's lyrics describes a girl who" → "The lyrics describe a girl who"
  • "Her love is then captivated by his "wild passion" that keeps her from being free." - Source to quotation?
Can it be to Template:Cite album-notes (since its the lyrical meaning of it)? If not I'll remove.
  • "'Captive Heart' peaked at number ninety-six on the Canadian Hot 100 and number thirty on the Rhythmic Top 40" - Numbers above 9 are written as numerals. So 96, not ninety-six.
Production and composition
  • "while it was produced by" - "and was produced by"
  • "It was audio mixed by Nathaniel "Mick" Guzuaski"
  • "It had drew influences" - use present tense.
  • "The song's lyrics describes" - grammatical error
  • Third paragraph has no sources.
As per above, if not I'll remove.
Simply remove both informations.
Commercial performance and critical reception
  • "Vibe editor Ed Morales, compared both, Evelyn "Champagne" King and "Wherever You Are" (duet with the Barrio Boyzz) with the song 'Captive Heart'" - remove those commas. They are incorrect.
  • "The Daily Vault, believed Selena made a mistake with 'Captive Heart'" - remove comma.
  • "'... the song was a surprising and painful flaw, because it showcases a mistake of exerting too much throat, which many popular singers currently do ...'" There should not be ellipses in the beginning and end of quotations. Remove all and place a period after the quotation.
  • "Mario Tarradell of The Dallas Morning News, stated while reviewing "I'm Getting Used To You" that the songs "... are a bit more uptempo, bordering on that New Jill Swing sound popularized by Mary J. Blige and Jade ..."[13]" - improper use of comma and ellipses.
Do I use [...]?
No, just remove the ellipses. That's all.
Awards and nominations
  • Rename section to simply "Nominations" because she did not win the awards.
  • Remove red links.
References
  • FN 1 and 15: What is underlined should be italicized and what is italicized should not be italicized.
    • Not done for FN 15.
  • FN 4: "(Musicnotes). Musicnotes.com." → "Musicnotes.com."
    • No italics or double period please.
  • FN 13: Title?
It's there, for some reason it won't show and has a BARE URL. Do you know how I can fix that? Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 18:59, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done.
External links
  • Not needed. Does not add to the article and is rather irrelevant.

Another problem, the sound sample fails WP:NFCC#8 so give it a more detailed caption focusing on the song's composition. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 19:19, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

 Fixed Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 19:25, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done addressing sound sample issue and ref 15 issue. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 19:44, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed sorry for that. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 19:57, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I know this is frustrating, but I just found that you are sourcing the instrumentation info with Musicnotes, which is only reliable source tempo, key and chord progression. So it's gotta go, which renders the audio sample failing WP:NFCC and that must be removed as well. Sorry, —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 20:05, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So remove the audio file? I removed the instrumentations. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 01:36, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
