Carlie's dad[edit]

I seem to recall reading somewhere that there was a character in an old Moon Knight comic that fit the description of Carlie's father, Ray Cooper - anyone know which issue this might be? MultipleTom (talk) 16:55, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pertinence of article[edit]

Does the character even deserves an article? She has hardly appeared in the comic as of now in any role of important relevance and she seems too much like a throwaway character like Jill Stacy (or whatever the name of Gwen's cousin was) was at the time she was introduced. --148.202.85.194 (talk) 14:30, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Negative fan Reception[edit]

Should we mention somewhere about how the general opinion on Cooper is incredibly negative? Many other characters from different franchises with similar reactions have it mentioned somewhere on their article, but so far, no where on the article has mentioned the hatred directed at her. Perhaps it should be added somehwere.--92.22.216.116 (talk) 18:30, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's not mentioned how much of a perfectly perfect embodiment of perfection Carlie Cooper is shown to be in the comics, either, so I think it's a moot point as of now. However, if you find a legal source out there offering a cirtique on her character or explaining her Mary Sue traits then you could argue that it should be included. --148.202.85.194 (talk) 17:39, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It should, but the problem is it not breaching WP:OR and WP:POV. Just stating that fans dislike her would do that. I'll see if I can find some published reviews that critique her character.--CyberGhostface (talk) 19:11, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"End of a long relationship" vs "retconning of marriage"[edit]

Wikipedia looks at the articles from a real-world perspective. From a real-world perspective, Carlie Cooper was a potential romantic interest right after the OMD retcon. Saying "after a long relationship with Mary-Jane" is using the in-universe comicbook explanation. That they just ended a long relationship is not what happened from a historical perspective of the series but is rather Joe Quesada's self-imposed rewriting of continuity.--CyberGhostface (talk) 04:07, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No it isn't. "Long relationship" could equally mean a marriage. The new wording removes any trace of opinion and works universally in both contexts. And for that matter, I don't think Peter and Mary Jane were married in the real world. MultipleTom (talk) 16:40, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
They didn't?
In all seriousness, there's no 'opinion' by simply stating what happened and I'm not sure how it's POV to refer to it is a marriage over relationship. If it sounds ridicilous, that's not our fault. In "One More Day", they didn't 'end a long relationship', Mephisto erased their marriage. That's what happened in the storyline. If you want to view Wikipedia articles on comicbook characters as in-universe, then that's what you'd say. If you want to view them as fictional characters in a comicbook, you'd say the marriage was retconned. But to say "they ended their long relationship in One More Day" is factually incorrect.--CyberGhostface (talk) 17:47, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody said "they ended it", the wording says "it was ended", and is perfectly ambiguous about how (as it is not relevant to this article). "Following the end of their long relationship" applies neutrally and universally to any interpretation of what this article is meant to consist of and I can't really understand why you keep changing it back. MultipleTom (talk) 19:56, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, change it back. I've brought it up at the WikiProject and I'll wait for a third party before any further edits.--CyberGhostface (talk) 20:08, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GOCEreviewed[edit]

The reason I've removed the copy edit tag and marked this as {{GOCEreviewed}} is that it's almost entirely in-universe, indicating that it may need substantial rewrite. The kind of extra material needed can be found by looking at some of the best articles listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Fictional characters/Quality content. When the article is more compltet, please do re-tag for copy edit if you like. --Stfg (talk) 22:15, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
