Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because this is an in-progess description of a contemporary artist whose career spans over thirty years. Szymanski's work has been exhibited internationally and she been interviewed by many credible sources such as Yale University Radio WYBCX, The Brooklyn Rail, artcritical and Hyperallergic. Szymanski has also been referenced numerous times in the Art Guide of The New York Times, dating back to 1988. Her most recent exhibition, Emergency Eyewash, was on view at tANJA gRUNERT, a gallery in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, according to the gallery's website.

Am I permitted to use this photo of the artist, featured in an interview from Yale University Radio WYBCX? A release is needed to upload an image to commons. See this info about licensing. You could contact her at her website and ask for an image, mentioning the needed release at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Email_templates. Alternatively, she could upload an image herself via https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard, selecting an appropriate license.–CaroleHenson (talk) 21:21, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Annagraaace Yep, their uploading it is the better way to go. Commons doesn't use hearsay as a form of proper licensing justification. There needs to be documentation by the copyrightholder.–CaroleHenson (talk) 19:18, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
