Tone & Superfluous Language[edit]

I made one small change: "sits behind bars at" to "is incarcerated at" -- but that's only one of the smallest examples of the overblown, cute crime-drama tone/language dominating this article. I changed it because it's minor, but nonetheless exemplary, of an issue I wanted to run by others before spending time fixing the rest. Do others agree this article has an incorrect tone for an encyclopedia entry? I'm not a super experienced editor beyond typos but would like to take on more.
