Some unreliable sources struck. There is also an additional source here regarding the "boot camp" programs in general: "Get Tough" Programs Seen as Ineffective. If anyone has access to the NIH study it refers to, that might be quite helpful as well. Seraphimblade Talk to me Please review me! 03:32, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
NOTE: Seaside Academy's minimal website (marked with asterisk above) says that program is in Rosarita, Mexico (not Ensenada), "just a little over 20 miles south of San Diego, California" (much closer than Ensenada), so it is very likely not located at the same facility as Casa. However, its contact information (from LD Online) clearly identifies it as part of the WWASPS family: SeaSide Academy, 321 North Mall Drive Ste RS, St George, Utah 84790, Phone: 800-637-0701, Email: Lezlee@parenthotline.com. That site is not a reliable source about Casa.

*The Workers from Casa by the sea About the typical staff at Casa by the Sea. About the impact the closure had on the poor local community.

The Committee took the view that the two items had been appropriately framed. It noted that the aim was to reflect the experience of the mother and the daughter, and not to provide a far-reaching investigation of the camp concerned. It considered that the items had given a fair reflection of the child s experiences.

It noted the complainant s concern that the programme had failed to alert other parents viewing the programme to the controversies surrounding such camps. It considered, however, that such information was available on the internet to parents who were taking an active interest in the camp. This had not, therefore, represented a serious breach of the programme s responsibilities.

They knew the school was dangerous but because parents are able to find such information, the complaint was turned down.

  • I struck through two of Covergaard's references. There is no evidence that laprensa-sandiego.org is a credible authoritative source. bbcgovernorsarchive.co.uk is a credible source, but the item lacks information value for an encyclopedia article. (Somebody complained to BBC about BBC's coverage, and BBC said BBC was not at fault.) The others look potentially useful.--orlady 15:29, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exit plan (I am searching)

  • A vital part of their treatment was the "Exit plan". If a child turned 18 before he had finished the program. The child gets a busticket or a planeticket to some part of US and then the child is on his or her own. No support at all from the parent and if he or her can find another part of the family to support the child - the street is the destiny.
  • Michael Perry's statement, which is not considered a relevant source, confirm the use of "exit plan" at Casa. I have only found a relecant source, which explain why the exit plan was invented, but actually that it was used at Casa. 'Exit plan' shut door on teen

I can't see anything encyclopedic about describing the "exit plan", regardless of the sources.--orlady 04:49, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried, but even with a good source, the pages gets reverted. See Exit strategy history. Covergaard 08:36, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • There are good reasons why it gets reverted. It's not a topic worthy of an encyclopedia.--orlady 13:48, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • By what definition? It is a very real thing, which inflict some 3-5.000 peoples lives every year. Covergaard 13:56, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Extra source[edit]

Child abuse + WWASP facility[edit]

Casa by the Sea was primarily for behavior modification than for school. It should be called a WWASP facility since that's what Tranquility Bay is called too and should also be categorised under Child Abuse alongside TB, especially considering that it was closed for child abuse alongside other things (it states so in a BBC video). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.130.211.201 (talk) 21:54, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for explaining your changes. I have edited both Casa by the Sea and Tranquility Bay so that the first sentences include nouns written in standard English, rather than "WWASP facility." Also, the child abuse category is inappropriate for both facilities (even if it is believed to be true) because it represents a point of view. Wikipedia core policy calls for maintaining a neutral point of view. --Orlady (talk) 22:40, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
