IBM Aspersions[edit]

This page implies that IBM is major cause of the pollution of the Casperkill but ignores Vassar's coal-fired plant at the entrance to Sunset Lake. The path around the lake and by the creek down to 376 was graveled with the waste (clinkers) from this plant and the sheen of residue could be seen on the suface of the water from this. Also, the Town of Poughkeepsie dump was placed on the marsh headwaters north of route 44. Vassar Lake, the pit left over from brick clay extraction for the building of the campus, was another serious environmental mistake. 174.247.240.6 (talk) 09:26, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
