Well doen on the church. Can more be added on the house and on for example the "leaded well" on maps? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.237.142.21 (talk) 06:39, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Its an "ice house" with an unusually elaborate entrance. 217.213.253.157 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 11:14, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will seek more information on this. Indeed, OS / OSI maps show a "leaded well" while antiquities lists show an icehouse. SeoR (talk) 15:09, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It is an icehouse, sunken, with a cut-stone entrance, elaborate as stated above. It had become neglected and had accumulated some rubbish but was cleared out around 1980, or maybe 1981.217.213.130.114 (talk) 12:03, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other features of Castlemartin townland (whether on estate or not)[edit]

Anyone recall Crabstown Well? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.120.63.22 (talk) 23:24, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Access[edit]

I notice a sort-of comment on this in the article. I guess the events and access thing did not amount to what some hoped - but most knew better anyway, and to be fair, access, and even any rights-of-way that might have been liked, are tough on landowners. And the current owners, and Jim Kelly, have been decent enough about the odd "heritage walk" or other organised visit to the church, and some other bits of the estate near the river. The House and Stud are another matter, of course. 77.120.63.22 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 23:59, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image(s)[edit]

Noticing that the "image needed" tag has just been removed, I note that the only pictures are of gates. A picture of the main house, and maybe something of the grounds, would be very desirable, and surely someone local must have something? SeoR (talk) 10:13, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
