Listening to his Gia col manto dell'ombre as I am reviewing this!

How lovely! I wanted to add some sheet music to the article, but have been unable to find anything online Aza24 (talk) 06:31, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Early life
  • "However, records indicate that Amodei was still in Sciacca at this time" - "at this time" is redundant because "however" is an adverb that addresses his the aforementioned residence during that period.
  • "he is first recorded in Naples in 1679, though he may have arrived there at any point between 1670 and 1679" - "at any point" is redundant because that is already implied by "between 1670 and 1679."
    Done
Naples
  • "He presumably assisted with the music" - "the music"? Any specification? If there isn't any mentioned in sources, ignore this.
I don't believe the musical genres themselves are known, just some of the occasions
Overview
  • "attempting to use a three-systems layout to fit more music on each page" - Perhaps better would be "to fit more musical notations".
    Done, though a bit differently
General
  • The article is neutral, broad, well summarized, and free of edit wars and discussions.
  • The image of the sacristy is properly licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0.

@Aza24: I'll do a source review tomorrow. Wretchskull (talk) 22:20, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm very sorry for the delay! I completely forgot about this review!

References
  • No copyvio detected
  • The Veneziano et al. and Robinson et al. refs don't have links with subscription required parameters like the Bossa ref.
    • Done
  • Collisani ref needs a page range.
    • The source doesn't have page numbers, I don't think
  • Spotchecks:
  • Bossa ref supports all cited text except 1. g and 1. j. "Amodei's compositions are religious in function" source? Also, note 9 shows that four librettos survive, which seems to line up with the source. However, locations aren't mentioned.
  • I think that was the one line I didn't write haha—I rephrased. The locations are based on the abbreviations in the comp list (I-MOe, Nc etc.); you can click on them individually to see the full name
  • D'Alessandro 2003 ref: I'm struggling to find "Cathaldus Vitus" on page XLV. Also, where does it say that he was the last of six children? I didn't spot any issues with the other pages.
  • The Cathaldus Vitus is in note 1, is that perhaps worth adding to the citation? The six children thing is in second half of the source's first sentence: "the penultimate of Gaspare and Antonia's six children". Incidentally, when I was looking for it right now it took me a good 5 minutes for some reason, so no worries on missing it! Aza24 (talk) 02:40, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • AGF on Collisani ref: The text is in Italian but it's very easy to tell that it supports the text.
  • AGF on inaccessible sources.

@Aza24: Couldn't find any other issues. Ping me when you're done. Wretchskull (talk) 15:21, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Wretchskull: thanks for the thorough source review. I believe everything is responded to. Aza24 (talk) 02:41, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's my pleasure! The article has been promoted. Wretchskull (talk) 10:54, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
