Issues

Hullo. Two things:

1. Mr Chips is not made of potatoes, so I'm removing that. 2. Is there no fair use image of Mr Chips available?

Yeah, he looks more like a bullet or something.. there's a few images on google but I have no idea what license they're under. - Luminar 02:45, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Demise

Can someone please STOP changing its end date to 2003 until you find a source for it. Also Nick Weir hosted it from 2000-2002 not 1999-2002.

Copyright violation?

Why is this warning in place when the offending material has been removed? The warning used implies the whole article is a problem and a candiate for deletion. Seems like a sledgehammer to crack an (already cracked) nut to me. --BrucePodger (Lets have a beer) 09:12, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

'key moments' section deleted

The 'key moments' section was deleted as a copyright infringement of http://www.ukgameshows.com/page/index.php?title=Catchphrase without assertion of permission or ownership. Since the problem was a small section, the article does not have to be deleted and recreated anew.

The editor who added that section, Coolest Kid20, has been accused of sock puppetry at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Coolest Kid20. If edits are made that resemble his, please list those editors on that page under 'Suspected sock puppets'. Thanks. KrakatoaKatie 21:45, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

hello? Should there be mention of other particular episodes? Like the "One-sided game" episode which had contestants Melanie and Andy (Said episode has opening sequence catchphrases "Peg-Leg", "Brainstorm" and "Kingpin". I say "One-sided game" because Melanie either didn't press her buzzer in time or continuously mis-guessed catchphrases)?

Episodes

There is some points that need to be looked at: Last series, went up to 30 August 2002 50ep, then reappeared for 3 days in 17, 18, 19 December 2002. The strange things April 2003 it papers say it was NOT a repeat is it possible there were made episode which were held over? or could it be two different series or even all in one?

I got this in a web search - TVS in association with Action Time for ITV, 12 January 1986 to 28 October 1994 ... Conflict under #Transmissions -all help welcome-

I've just reviewed an edit by @90.240.59.2:, and the source given checks out, but there's an issue. The viewership given in the article seems to be based on ITV statistics. As I understand, though, the show also airs on BBC, and also has a substantial viewership there. My question is: why do we base the numbers solely on ITV? Why not use the combined views on both channels? I want to know the logic behind this. Otherwise, good job for maintaining this article. Cheers, Double Plus Ungood (talk) 18:27, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

All the first run episodes were shown on ITV (or STV/UTV); it is regularly repeated on Challenge but has never on the BBC, so it's hardly surprising that BBC statistics aren't included in the article. 147.147.36.29 (talk) 17:06, 2 July 2018 (UTC)

Only 17 episodes aired for Series 9 of Catchphrase, not 18.

Hello. Although they were still fighting about the 9th series article i'd like to say that according to ADC TV TVS YouTube channel, there are only 17 episodes from the 9th series, not 18, the 18th episode didn't air in transmission, see article for proof, and if they break the rules, i'll tell the admins to protect the page.
