Untitled[edit]

I had started working on the Covington Cathedral page without knowing that another page with the Basilica's true name on it already existed. The old Cathedral page has been blanked and everything moved and linked to this page. --Firstthes 16:32, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Window Sizes[edit]

I don't believe it's true that (as we claim) the basilica has the first and third-largest rose windows in the world. This site gives diameters of 26 feet for the basilica's rose windows, which is comparable to the rose window at Washington National Cathedral but much smaller than the windows at St. John the Divine in New York or at Amiens or Notre Dame de Paris, all of which are 40 feet in diameter or more.

Likewise, the claim that the basilica has the largest stained glass window of any church in the world appears to be false as well. For instance, York Minster's great east window is 76 feet high by 31 feet wide, much larger than the dimensions we give for the basilica's window. And according to Britannica.com, the east window of Gloucester Cathedral is 72 feet high and 38 feet wide.

Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, Covington, KentuckyCathedral Basilica of the Assumption (Covington, Kentucky) – On 30 April 2013 the article was moved from Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption (Covington, Kentucky) to Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, Covington, Kentucky with the justification that the location was part of a church's identity. However, the Cathedral's website (http://www.covcathedral.com/) lists its name only as Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption with no mention of the location other than a subtitle saying it is the mother church of the Covington Diocese. • Support as this is the standard way of phrasing titles of American buildings. However, note that for European buildings we usually use the comma form, which is probably what confused the mover. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:57, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
