Photo[edit]

Catherine Opie: 700 Nimes: traveling dates[edit]

I've noted the originating exhibition location at MOCA. However, I chose not to add the traveling exhibitions since they are in the future. I would suggest adding these dates after each exhibition has opened.

Potential Updates[edit]

Hi there! I'm a student editor, and came across Catherine Opie's page and was brainstorming some points of improvement I noticed while reading through the page and comparing her page to other artist. I wanted to mention a couple points here before making any changes to get input or suggestions.

-adding a recent picture of the artist under the biographical section, complete DOB and acknowledging her partner/wife -re,organizing the work section into coherent subsections pertaining to exhibitions/works of art -adding more information concerning her early work during the AIDS epidemic in the 80s -adding information about her current job at UCLA, as well as any current projects she's working on/has mentioned publicly (if any)

Obviously, this is gonna require some help from sources so I also wanted to include a few promising journal articles/interviews I've come across to get your feedback on them as well. Added Initial Descriptions of "Being and Having" and "Portraits"[edit]

Within the work section, I added brief elaborations to the description of Opie's first two works "Being and Having" and "Portraits" given that all other works mentioned thereafter had their own individual descriptions.

Peer-Review[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians. I have deleted the sentence "Her portraits often document the queer community." I found this sentence to be redundant considering that the previous paragraphs discusses in detail her work in the LGBT community. Furthermore, I think that the paragraph that begins with "Being and Having 1991" should be combined with the paragraph above it because again, it becomes redundant since that paragraph also talks about that project of hers.
