Title[edit]

What does the III refer to in the title? The article itself doesn't explain. - is this about a third edition (for which I can't find references to elsewhere)? or is this article only about Scale 3 (a subset of the tests)? Or something else? 192.76.8.75 (talk) 15:21, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On further investigation, it occurs to me that the entire article may be conflating Cattell III B (of which I know nothing other than it is language dependant), and Cattell's Culture Fair (Which, for each Scale, has a Form A and a Form B). 192.76.8.77 (talk) 11:52, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

2007 Comment[edit]

Is this the standart IQ test? I'm not sure Sven the llama 03:44, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, not by far. KSchutte 16:28, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, what about the Cattle B (verbal test)? Could I have some exapmles? Thanks

  • The CCF III is the combination of (A+B), yes it is a standard test, please do some research before making statements that are not factual. See:[1].Tstrobaugh 20:17, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think a single paper is really evidence that this is a "standard" test. It is at very best uncommon. 71.63.239.126 (talk) 06:32, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is not _that_ uncommon. Used quite commonly esp. in W&O psychology (e.g. suitability assessment for recruitment) in Scandinavian countries for example. 153.1.30.81 (talk) 10:37, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Intelligence Citations Bibliography for Articles Related to IQ Testing[edit]

You may find it helpful while reading or editing articles to look at a bibliography of Intelligence Citations, posted for the use of all Wikipedians who have occasion to edit articles on human intelligence and related issues. I happen to have circulating access to a huge academic research library at a university with an active research program in these issues (and to another library that is one of the ten largest public library systems in the United States) and have been researching these issues since 1989. You are welcome to use these citations for your own research. You can help other Wikipedians by suggesting new sources through comments on that page. It will be extremely helpful for articles on human intelligence to edit them according to the Wikipedia standards for reliable sources for medicine-related articles, as it is important to get these issues as well verified as possible. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk) 19:31, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd love to hear from other editors suggestions for additional sources for articles on this topic or related topics. Meanwhile, I expect soon to edit this article with citations of reliable secondary sources about this test, preparatory for article edits to come. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk, how I edit) 17:29, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I see sourcing for this article is still very meager, and mostly reliant on articles by the author or publisher of the test, thus the article is hardly neutral in point of view. There are a lot of reliable secondary sources that compare various IQ tests, and the information in those should be added to this article for balanced perspective. The source list I have compiled and revise from time to time points to a lot of useful sources. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk, how I edit) 16:10, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

January 2012[edit]

The text under "Further consideration - Tentative timed and untimed age trends" was a straight copy-paste from K. Barton's article "Recent Data on the Culture Fair Scales" included in the Technical Supplement for CF, and not particularly relevant here either, so I removed it. And just a comment, this is quite a "standard", that is, commonly used, if aged, test in many countries, esp. in the field of W&O Psychology. 83.150.88.82 (talk) 12:13, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Helpful review article[edit]

I was reading for my own professional research this evening, and chanced across a peer-reviewed review article, The role of nonverbal ability tests in identifying academically gifted students: An aptitude perspective,

Lohman, D. F. (2005). The role of nonverbal ability tests in identifying academically gifted students: An aptitude perspective. Gifted Child Quarterly, 49, 111-138.

which won the 2010 National Assocation for Gifted Children Research Paper of the Decade award. There are some thoughtful comments about the Cattell Culture Fair test, which is the topic of this Wikipedia article, in Professor Lohman's review article on nonverbal testing. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk, how I edit) 01:12, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The external link leads to a link to a paid IQ test. It only tells you that you have to pay to get a result after you have taken it ($50!!!). I don't know if this is allowed but it seems shady? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Murphysmate (talkcontribs) 16:44, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
