Jayant Biswas[edit]

I just found this article after someone was edit warring over adding Jayant Biswas to the Biswas article. Why does Biswas merit a "Dr. Jayant Biswas is one notable researcher in this field" in the lede section, above all other researchers? If Biswas is regarded as a leading light in Indian cave research, this should be mentioned and sourced. --McGeddon (talk) 08:18, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone can be having expertise in any specific field, which could be an outcome of his/her lifetime achievement(s), it doesn't mean that he/she should maintain a separate page of him/herself in wikipedia inspite of referring his/her work in the relevant page. Biswas page is such a page, where great personalities having title Biswas have been placed with such other figures which are only some certain club level player or performer. Except in Wikipedia it is hard to find any other references of them in internet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.200.243.116 (talk) 05:57, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
My question is whether Jayant Biswas alone should be mentioned in the lede section of this article. --McGeddon (talk) 11:26, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In India we did a joint research program with Dr. Biswas who is heading the institution [1] It is the only institution in India founded by Dr. Biswas purposely for Cave Research and thus certainly how far the cave science is concerned he is only the notable researcher from India. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.96.80.102 (talk) 06:55, 25 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
