Name change

I disagree with the name change this article has recently suffered. I'd rather keep it under Estadio Centenario or Centenario Stadium. Translating the name is just not right in this case (unless I'm just wrong and that famous building is called "Edificio Estado Imperial" after all). Jordevi 21:10, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

the Estadio Centenario as a home stadium

It is stated in the article (as of 2007/01/17) that the Estadio Centenario is the home stadium of Penarol football club, one of the two uruguayan "big teams", the other being club Nacional de football.

I have 4 comments about that:

1. Being a uruguayan football fan, i can state that this is a huge mistake. The Estadio Centenario is not the home stadium of any team. The stadium is owned by the municipality, and is used for almost every major football match that takes place in Uruguay.

2. The Estadio Centenario could only be said to be home stadium of the Uruguay national football team. All international matches featuring the national team are held in this stadium.

3. The referenced uruguayan football team is not named Penarol, but Peñarol.

4. After the demolition of the Estadio Pocitos, which was indeed its home stadium, Peñarol has never had a home stadium. Peñarol has got training facilities with football fields called Los Aromos, but no official matches are played there.

Peñarol is not the tenant of the stadium

After one week of talking in the spanish version of wikipedia for this same stadiumhttp://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discusi%C3%B3n:Estadio_Centenario it´s been proved that peñarol is not the tenant of the stadium. The only official web page of the stadium said that are tenants of the stadium "tha national football team and any other uruguayan team that ask for it" http://estadiocentenario.com.uy/el-estadio/historia.html peñarol plays as many games as a local than as visitant team in that stadium and EVERY uruguayan team is local in the stadium at least once at year. But the main reason to change the information is as I said that after one weem of talking in the spanish version with the helping of wikipedia moderators the information has been corrected and it has no sense that the same stadium has different information according to the language we read it, the facts are the facts in any language and as it sais in the spanish version the tenant of the stadium is the national football team and any other uruguayan team that ask for it http://estadiocentenario.com.uy/el-estadio/historia.html Martinh1985 (talk) 13:38, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was a consensus, the result was to ignore the "Local" part of the infobox and make a mention of the subject with a text in the article. Nowhere in this agreement does it say that Peñarol is not "Local" at the stadium Centenario. Now, tenant doesnt have the same meaning. Tenant means a person or group that rents and occupies land, a house, an office, or the like, from another for a period of time; lessee. Peñarol rents the stadium and the fact that it also plays games as a visitor does not contradict that.

Now, lets say for a moment that I do agree with you and we should resolve this in the same way, even tough "tenant" does not mean "local". In such case then we should also remove the Uruguay National Football Team.--Nuno93 (talk) 14:06, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
